AHIP’s Toto Deron, The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Commanding General, civil relations service Brigadier General Romeo Gali Gan, OPAPP undersecretary for programs on the bangsamoro, hon. Atty. Jose I. Lorena, and globally award winning brand architect and Mindanao advocate Amor Maclang.
Under the banner of “The Business of ASEAN is the Business of Halal,” the first Philippine International Halal Forum was created and organized by The Alliance for Halal Integrity in the Philippines. Aimed at enhancing halal certification awareness at both the international and local levels, the Forum provides an important platform for stakeholders to share and contribute knowledge and findings related to halal certification, accreditation, and best practices for assuring integrity and credibility under halal.
The Philippine International Halal Forum comes as the first halal business and trade forum in the Philippines that focuses on the Philippine halal market and its lucrative export potential. The Forum also sheds light on the vital role the halal industry will play in the coming ASEAN integration in 2015.
The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will be established in 2015, creating a highly competitive single market through the economic merging of all member nations. The Muslim community, one of the world’s fastest growing, has over 60% of its total population living right here in the ASEAN region. Halal is therefore seen as the Philippines’ key to unlocking the gateway to the rest of ASEAN.
The Forum will see a number of authoritative personalities take to the stage to share their knowledge and expertise on halal. The Forum will also host an in-depth forum on various topics of interest and concern for executives in Philippine halal industry. Topics will range from government, food manufacturing, distribution, certifying bodies/entities, consumer groups, industry players, and the general public.
The Philippine International Halal Forum also opens an exposition of quality halal products and services aimed at encouraging the exchange of ideas and interactions among entrepreneurs and their peers.
