Suzuki Enters Family Car Market With 7-seater Ertiga

Fuel-efficient, spacious, and feature-rich Life Utility Vehicle (LUV) expands Suzuki’s affordable car line-up

Manila, Philippines. July 15, 2014 – Why buy a ladder frame AUV with high body roll and bumpy ride when you can have a monocoque with a true car-like ride for much less?

Upgrade but don’t up spend. This is what Suzuki, a leader in compact cars, is offering for Filipino families with the 7-seater, compact multi-purpose vehicle Ertiga. Dubbed as a Life Utility Vehicle (LUV), the all-new Ertiga combines the maneuverability and agility of a compact car with the spacious interiors of an MPV.

Sporting a 1.4L gasoline engine that produces a maximum power of 95Hp @ 6,000 rpm, a maximum torque of 130Nm @ 4,000 rpm, and an average fuel efficiency of 16.02 km/L*, the Ertiga ensures smooth and comfortable rides every time. The versatile compact MPV exhibits the same platform utilized by the well-loved Swift hatchbacks— only now enclosed in a larger, more spacious body.

When space and safety meets style

The Ertiga is designed to be both stylish and aerodynamic. Smart side view mirrors are standard safetyfeaturesfor the GL variant. The GLX variant takes this a notch higher by including built-in fog lamps as added features for passenger safety.

Inside, the Ertiga presents enough space to comfortably seat up to 7 people with 113 liters of space to spare for shopping bags or sports equipment in the car boot. The mid-row seats move back or forward for ample leg room. The Ertiga also offers second row air-conditioning to keep 2nd and 3rd row passengers cool during travels.

The Ertiga comes standard with SRS dual front seat airbags, 3-point ELR seatbelts, and ABS with EBD (automatic brakeforce distribution) for added safety in all road conditions. The vehicle also uses a higher tensile steel in strategic sections of the body structure to reduce overall bodyweight without compromising safety. Second row air-conditioning and abovementioned safety features are available in the GL and GLX variants.

Suzuki will be offering the Ertiga range locally in four variants: the Ertiga GA M/T (Php 619,000), GL M/T (Php 712,000), GL A/T (Php 752,000), and GLX A/T (Php 812,000). Ertiga will be available in Serene Blue, Firebrick Red, Granite Grey, Silky Silver, Superior White, and Dusky Brown colors.
