Cantilan Bank connects to Bancnet through cloud technology
Surigao del Sur-based Cantilan Bank has established a secure cloud-based connectivity to BancNet, the Philippines’ single ATM switch operator.
This is in line with the rural bank’s efforts to elevate the quality of rural banking in the country and promote financial inclusion.
Cantilan Bank has achieved its milestone by establishing cloud-based SD-WAN to ensure secure connectivity to their cloud-based SaaS and successfully connecting it to the BancNet network. This was done by integrating Peplink’s FusionHub and firewall.
Working with SpeedFusion Networks to address its connectivity issues, Tanya Hotchkiss, Executive Vice President of Cantilan Bank, has spearheaded the deployment of SD-WAN across all the bank’s 46 branches.
Since 2017, the rural bank has been enjoying the full benefits of SD-WAN in supporting their banking operations and in their overall digital journey. Now, they have taken on another challenge of extending SD-WAN to the cloud to address their cloud banking challenges.
With FusionHub, Cantilan Bank can now establish SD-WAN connections between cloud servers and physical SD-WAN devices. This setup allows faster access to applications using combined bandwidth as well as ensure session persistence, which ensures maintaining of session integrity even when WAN connections break.
In a press release, SpeedFusion Networks said it is a great privilege to work alongside forward-thinking bank clients like Cantilan Bank that are keen on fully harnessing the power of technology and as a result reap the tangible value of their digital initiatives.
