When you dare to dream, you have to go for it.

A well-accomplished man, yet for Dave Almarinez, the road to success is still a long journey.

At the age of 5, this native from Binan, Laguna unknowingly wanted to prove something for himself.  While his classmates played, Dave was out in the streets, under the sun, selling peanuts and ice drop. “I was the butt of jokes in class, but that was the least of my concerns. In my mind, it was all hard work, and I was determined. Maybe this was my natural ability to be an entrepreneur someday.”

Getting through college was another struggle. Dave tried to find work while at school but unfortunately he got rejected when he applied. Dave made it as Scholar at the Far Eastern University where he majored in Political Science. “My mom never knew that I was a scholar. We had ROTC then, and I stayed in the campus quarters (thou it was not allowed) to save me travelling from Binan to Manila and vice-versa. And every registration is the only time I get to buy me at least a new shirt or things I need in school.”

Dave was denied several times in his job applications. “Maybe these companies thought I’m not fit for the job or I cannot be an asset.” This set the bar of challenge for Dave.

“I will create an opportunity for myself.”

The turning point happened in Singapore. Upon graduating, he was able to work briefly in Singapore. While visiting a friend, he misplaced his passport. A Singaporean found this, called him up and they met.  It was this encounter that he was introduced to a business that dramatically changed his life and career!

He thought he can bring the distributorship to the Philippines. His mindset was instead of working for somebody else, why can he instead bring the products to the Philippines and make an income of his own?

It was not an easy decision. Dave had to quit his regular job, go back home and do the distributorship. He had challenges-capitalization, manpower, network. But he had to go on. And with determination and hard work, Dave was slowly but surely expanding his business.

Another challenge this time, it was about a girl he was trying to win over. Unfortunately, she was giving him a hard time because “she can’t seem to brag him to her friends” and considers him as “not belonging to her circle”.  Dave promised to himself that he will go the best school and equipped himself.  Thanks to that rejection, Dave became a product of Harvard University where he finished Global Strategic Management.

Dave is currently the Regional Vice President for Organo Gold, a global gourmet coffee company that caters to consumers’ active lifestyles. He oversees all facets of Organo Gold’s Asian business, which currently includes Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Organo Gold considers Dave as an important addition to the team.  With his Strong Leadership & Direct marketing experience in Asia, his appointment intensifies Organo Gold’s regional presence.

Founded in 2008, Organo Gold is a global Network Marketing company on a mission to spread knowledge of Ganoderma to the entire world. The company vision is to help people improve their lives by reaching new levels of wellness, prosperity and balance, through the opportunity and products. Organo Gold, by far, is the largest and biggest in terms of beverage distribution. The company is ranked #67 globally, in Direct Selling. They are present in 44 countries and expanding more for this year. Organo Gold products include coffee, nutraceuticals and personal care. The Black Coffee is Organo Gold’s best seller and happens to be Dave’s personal favorite, along with Café Latte. “All annual conventions are done in the U.S. This year, we’re doing our first Asian Regional Convention in Thailand.  Hopefully, we can do it here next year. And we are expecting around 12,000 delegates for this activity.”

Dave has over 18 years of experience in the direct selling industry, and has held a number of leadership positions. He has been honored twice with Asia Pacific Young Professional Award for Entrepreneurship in 2004 and 2005. He also received Consumer’s Choice Young Professional Award for Business & Professional and Dangal ng Pilipinas Award.

“Dare to dream. Don’t be scared. Believe in yourself that you can make things happen, do it with boldness and conviction”.
