  1. The mere fact that less than 1% of the population are invested in the Stock Market is astounding. Imagine if we can bring it up to at least 1% just to start the ball rolling..

Great article! I agree that ignorance and fear are two of the factors that stop pinoys from investing in the stock market.

With the availability of the Internet being literally in the hands of pinoys (thru their smartphones), free education and free resources for personal finance are readily available.

But we can only say so much, at the end of the day it is one’s initiative that will really ignite the desire to learn and be educated.

    Thanks sir Randell!

  2. Randell, it occurred to me that you pegged 0.5% to 90 Million Filipinos investing in the stock market. So I got this question: At what age can I put money under my sons’ names if I invest it under them? I’ve invested in pooled funds (UITF) under your advice (THANKS SO BIG!) and the returns are very encouraging. I’m now thinking of opening stock market investments under their names.

  5. If there’s a best time to invest in stocks market, it’s now! Filipinos are just afraid to take the first step kasi they don’t know where to start. It’s a good thing there are a lot of avenues to learn like investment seminars, blogs, forums, and of course discussion with friends. If we can only bring the 0.5% investor to 5% malaking bagay na. Then we wouldn’t have to rely to foreign investors for investment capital. Like our fb page below to learn more about investing!
